FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When do I move in?
If you are living in a one-bedroom unit, your Apartment  may not be ready until the 5th work day of the month (due to cleaning and maintenance checks). Please confirm a move in date with the Housing office.  

Two and Four bedroom apartments will open Saturday, August 14, 2010 @ 9:00am.

Is there a payment plan to pay my rent?
Yes.  You can enroll in the Mercer Payment Plan with the Bursar's office (678.547.6121).  Also, if you have financial aid it can be used to help pay toward your housing costs.

Do I have to move out during Christmas break?
No.  The Apartments do not close for Christmas break.  

How do I cancel my assignment?
Email mitchell_ty@mercer.edu for cancellations.  The deadline to cancel an assignment without penalty is June 14, 2010 for returning students and August 1, 2010 for new students .  The penalty for cancellations after the deadline is one-month rent.

When is the deadline to turn in the contract?
The deadline to turn in your contract is July 19, 2010, while we will continue to accept contracts from students assigned in July, please have your contract in by this date.

How do I renew my contract for the next academic year or summer?
Every March there is a renewal process for all currently housed students, look for the signs and emails in February.  THERE IS NO NEED TO APPLY ONLINE.

Who do I contact for help when the office is closed?
There are two Resident Assistants (RAs) and an Apartment Manager available to help when the office is closed.  The duty schedule which includes contact information is posted in every building on the ground and second floors and changes monthly.

Where is the Housing located?
The Housing office is located in the Sheffield Center, 208, next door to Student Health Services.
